Hell yeah, Phoenix got buffed! Now it's only a conditional 12p max carry over card for just 11 provisions...that's...nice, I guess?
Cause we all know how much 4 points can be, against cards like Dethlaff, Fregate, Nov Justice or...Ok I'll stop.
Well, to be honest, I really really like this deck. It has a quite decent mix between removal options, consistency, pointslam, short and long-round potential.
Mask, Birna and our Skalds help us to thin our deck and optimally synergize with Skirmishers, Morkvarg or cards like Crowmother and Phoenix. Sometimes people don't even look in the graveyard to see what was discarded and hover totally confused in Round 2 above our Phoenix Egg.
Our alchemy package, together with the classic Blaze of Glory/Hjalmar combo threatens a decent removal, while we often can outtempo our opponent in Round 1, if we draw perfectly. Than we bleed in Round 2 with an already set up Crowmother and Phoenix, maybe even use a Leader-Morkvarg combo and finish with a Skjall. Greatsword works as an additional Hjalmar or Leader Target, while also has some synergies with our alchemy damage.
In a shorter Round 3, Gedyneith works pretty solid, even better if you can establish some crows and than just Sigdrifa a Jutta and finish it with Axel.
You can think about working around Greatsword, Axel and Gremist to might add Derran, a Freyas Blessing or something else, but that's up to you.
Without Phoenix, this deck might even be a solid ladder deck to be fair, "[...] but ladder is boring and Phoenix is not." Konfuzius
