EDIT: I recommend switching Tyrggvi out for Morkvarg Heart of Terror.
Morkvarg does better in the current meta than Tyrgvvi.
I have been trying since the patch to make pirates viable, but it has been no easy task. I finally landed upon this list. I think it's strong: I have had good results so far, going on a 6-game win streak on my climb back to pro rank. This is a Lippy deck, but it's more difficult to play than conventional Lippy. Which makes it all the more rewarding to pilot.
Crach is a super powerful card. When played well he can dominate the battlefield, destroying your opponent's plays in series. Dimun Pirate, while a subpar 7 for 5 play, becomes 7 damage removal paired with Crach in round 1.
Generally you want to play Crach round 1, then replay him in round 3 once you have played Lippy.
On blue coin I usually avoid buffing Crach with Crystal Skull: at 7 power he is difficult to remove with damage, and putting him to 11 just gives your opponent a better Heatwave.
Dimun Warship is a key bronze in this deck, often playing as a crazy 11 or 12 for 4p. The difficulty is that it requires careful setup. You can't play it early in round 1 because it requires a bronze pirate in the graveyard. Sometimes you can use Crach to kamikaze a pirate to death, other times you have to save Warship for round 2 or 3. You have to be careful about keeping a bronze pirate in deck so you can activate Warship after you play Lippy.
2 of your leader pings are dedicated to activating Cerys in 2 rounds, and 3 are to activate Warships at opportune moments. It's possible this deck could use a Blueboy Lugos, but it's difficult to fit in, and regardless any unit that isn't a pirate weakens your pirate payoff cards (Crach, Tidecloak Hideaway, Holger Blackhand).
Tidecloak Hideaway is another strong card in this deck, often playing 10 for 5. You have to think carefully about your sequencing, sometimes it is better to play Holger first then Hideaway—it often depends on the board state.
Remember that Royal Decree goes straight to the graveyard, so you can use it in round 2 before you Lippy for a chance to draw into it in round 3. I played a version of this deck with Blood Eagle instead, but I found it just too awkward to balance Deathblow/Bloodthirst on top of all the other moving parts in the deck.
This deck is not for the faint-hearted. It can generate a sea of points with wild tempo plays, but requires you to be cunning and crafty. Godspeed my friends, and good plundering!
About me: I am a pro rank player, having played the game since Crimson Curse. I enjoying piecing together fresh new decks while remaining competitive. If you like this deck please give me an upvote! As ever, it's likely there are improvements to be made to this deck, but I didn't want to let perfection be the enemy of progress.
